Not just contending with swimming and cycling challenges, action man Jamie Snarski aimed to run six half marathons in six days. The Six-Six-One challenge took place during World Parkinson’s Week to raise awareness and much needed funds. Anything raised would help people living with the condition, to improve quality of life and to ensure that people live better for longer.
After some excellent maths by Jamie, he started the challenge on the Sunday with a view to finish on the Friday completing six half marathons in six days. The problem was Kelly Coe was heading up for her first ever half marathon on the Saturday morning. This resulted in Jamie completing seven half marathons in seven days, which was a real effort but along the way he had some amazing support from friends and family but also members of the local running club Jamie is part of Castle Striders.
In his own words Jamie had this to say on his last day:
“Thank you to every single person that has messaged, shared and commented on posts! Thanks for every penny donated from everyone! Lastly, thank you to me and my legs for not giving up or packing in! I wasn’t sure they would make it but always knew in my mind I would do it!
